The key differences

Why people choose Virtual Voice

Works on any device

Your landline number rings on your iPhone, Android, PC and Mac simultaneously. Take calls from the sofa or answer on your laptop — the choice is yours.

No long contracts

BT and Sky lock you in for 18–24 months. Virtual Voice is rolling monthly. If you are not happy in the first 30 days we refund you in full.

Cheaper every month

Our entry plan costs £5.99 a month. BT Digital Voice starts at over £21. For the average household that is a saving of over £180 a year.

Common questions

Honest answers

Will my calls sound as good as my old landline?+
On modern broadband, yes — often better. We use HD voice codecs that deliver noticeably clearer audio than traditional copper lines. The only variable is your broadband speed, and any connection over 2 Mbps is more than adequate for calls.
Can I really keep my exact number?+
Yes. We port your existing number from your current provider. Geographic 01/02 numbers are almost always portable. The process usually takes 5–10 working days and your old line keeps ringing right up to the moment the port completes.
What if my broadband goes down?+
VoIP requires an internet connection, so a broadband outage will affect your service — the same is true of BT's and Sky's digital voice products. We always recommend keeping a mobile charged as a backup, and you can set a failover number in your portal so calls divert to your mobile automatically.
Is there a penalty for leaving?+
No. Virtual Voice is a rolling monthly contract. You can cancel at any time with no notice period and no exit fee. If you cancel in your first 30 days we will refund you in full.
